App Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy explains how SLEEPSPAN, PLLC ("Sleepspan," "we," "us," or "our"), handles information in connection with the CircAlign Companion mobile application ("CircAlign" or the "App"), related app support, and the Sleepspan prelaunch website.

CircAlign is currently in private development and is available only to invited participants and authorized testers. This policy applies to the version of the App described here and will be updated if its data practices change.

Information processed by the App

Your clinician-reviewed plan

You may choose to import a signed, clinician-reviewed CircAlign plan. The plan may include a nonidentity-based plan reference, timing guidance, an authored time zone, issuance and expiration information, and related implementation cues. It is designed not to include your name, date of birth, medical record number, contact information, diagnosis, clinic or clinician name, raw actigraphy, laboratory data, questionnaire answers, or clinical notes.

The imported plan and your reminder preferences are stored in protected, device-only storage. They are not synchronized through iCloud and are not automatically uploaded to Sleepspan, a clinic, or a clinician.

Keep an individualized CircAlign QR code or import link private. A person who obtains it may be able to view the timing information it contains while the link remains valid.

Apple Health sleep data

If you deliberately enable the Sleep Timing Reflection feature, CircAlign requests read-only access to the Apple Health Sleep Analysis data type. CircAlign does not request permission to write health data.

Authorized sleep samples are queried only when you use the feature, processed temporarily on your iPhone, and used to create an on-device summary of sleep timing. Raw samples, source or device details, nightly intervals, and the resulting reflection are not automatically uploaded to Sleepspan, a clinic, or a clinician, and are not stored in your CircAlign plan.

You may choose to create a limited summary PDF and open Apple’s system Share Sheet. CircAlign does not select the recipient or automatically upload the file. A copy you send to Mail, Messages, Files, an electronic health record, a clinic, or another destination is governed by that destination’s privacy and retention practices.

CircAlign Check-in

If you choose to use CircAlign Check-in, the App stores your brief evening and morning entries in a protected, backup-excluded file on your iPhone. The App may create count-based summaries on your device. Check-in data is not automatically transmitted to Sleepspan or a clinician and is not used for remote monitoring. A summary leaves the App only when you deliberately choose Share and select a destination.

Approximate location

If you choose the local daylight feature, CircAlign may request reduced-accuracy, When-In-Use location to calculate sunrise and sunset on your iPhone. Coordinates are used temporarily, are not saved as location history, and are not sent to Sleepspan. CircAlign does not request background location for this feature.

Reminders and notifications

If you enable reminders, CircAlign stores reminder choices locally and schedules local notifications on your device. The App does not create a push-notification token or use a remote notification service. Apple controls notification permission, Focus, Silent Mode, and delivery behavior.

Apple Home

If you open Apple Home setup and grant permission, you may select compatible home accessories and choose an optional local lighting cue. CircAlign does not upload home, room, accessory, scene, or activity information to Sleepspan. Apple Home and the selected accessory platform control their own data and device behavior.

Optional Screen Wind-down

If a version of CircAlign offers Screen Wind-down and you deliberately enable it, Apple’s private picker may let you select apps for a local wind-down schedule. CircAlign is designed to receive only opaque Apple selection tokens—not app names or usage history—and to store those tokens and the related schedule in protected, backup-excluded storage on your iPhone. This information is not sent to Sleepspan or a clinician.

App preferences and device information

Display choices and other app preferences may be stored locally on your device. CircAlign does not include an analytics or crash-reporting SDK and does not automatically send app-usage histories or diagnostic logs to Sleepspan.

Information Sleepspan may receive

The App does not automatically send Sleepspan your plan, Apple Health data, Check-in entries, location, reminder activity, Apple Home information, Screen Wind-down selections, or app-usage history.

We may receive information in these limited circumstances:

• Support communications. If you email or call us, we receive the contact information and message you choose to provide. Please do not send medical details, passwords, verification codes, or screenshots containing private health information through ordinary email.
• Web and network information. When you visit a Sleepspan webpage, use an app link, or open an external website, the relevant hosting or website provider may receive ordinary network information such as an IP address, browser or device type, requested path, and server logs. CircAlign’s import link is designed so the individualized plan is not included in the ordinary web request.
• Information you choose to share. If you use Apple’s Share Sheet, you decide the destination. Sleepspan receives the shared information only if you deliberately select Sleepspan as the recipient.

How we use information we receive

We use information we receive to provide technical support, respond to questions and feedback, operate and secure our websites and communications, investigate problems, comply with law, and protect rights and safety. We do not use Apple Health data or other health information for advertising, marketing, data brokerage, or tracking.

Sharing and third parties

We do not sell personal information. CircAlign does not include advertising networks, behavioral tracking, session replay, general analytics, or third-party artificial intelligence services.

Website, email, telephone, and security providers may process limited information on our behalf to deliver those services. Apple provides the operating-system permissions and services you choose to use, including Apple Health, notifications, Apple Home, location controls, Screen Time features, and the Share Sheet. A destination you select through the Share Sheet receives the content you choose to send and applies its own privacy practices.

We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, or security of a person, Sleepspan, or the public. If our business or assets are reorganized, acquired, or transferred, information may be handled as part of that transaction subject to applicable law and this policy.

Retention

• Your imported plan, preferences, and Check-in history remain on your device until you remove them using available app controls, erase the App’s data, or uninstall the App, subject to ordinary operating-system behavior.
• Apple Health samples and approximate coordinates are processed temporarily and are not retained by Sleepspan.
• A temporary summary file remains only as needed to support the sharing action. Copies created in another app or service must be managed in that destination.
• Support communications and related records are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain appropriate business records, protect security, and meet legal obligations.
• Website and communications providers may retain technical logs according to their operational, security, and legal requirements.

Your choices and deletion

CircAlign does not create a Sleepspan user account, so there is no app account to delete. You remain in control of optional permissions and local app data:

• Use CircAlign’s controls to remove an imported plan, erase Check-in history, disable reminders, and turn off optional features.
• Manage or revoke Apple Health, location, notification, Apple Home, and Screen Time permissions in iPhone Settings and the applicable Apple apps.
• Review and separately remove calendar events, Apple Home scenes or schedules, and files or messages you previously shared to another destination.
• Delete the App to remove its app container. If you later reinstall it, CircAlign is designed to clear any protected plan record remaining from an earlier installation.
• Contact us to ask about or request deletion of personal information you previously provided directly to Sleepspan through app support. We may need to verify the request and may retain information when required by law or for legitimate security and recordkeeping needs.

Security

CircAlign uses platform protections and protected local storage appropriate to the type of information involved. Signed plans are checked before the App accepts them. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and the security of information you share also depends on the destination you select and the security of your device.

Clinics and health information

This policy describes Sleepspan’s practices for CircAlign. It does not replace a participating clinic’s Notice of Privacy Practices or other privacy obligations. Information you deliberately share with a clinic, clinician, electronic health record, or another healthcare service is handled under that recipient’s policies and applicable law.

Children

CircAlign is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the App. If you believe a child has provided information directly to Sleepspan, contact us so we can review and address the request.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as CircAlign changes or as legal and platform requirements evolve. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how the App handles information, we will provide additional notice when appropriate.
